Georg Häsler

Georg Häsler is an editor at the Neue Zürcher Zeitung. He is also a colonel in the Swiss Army and a member of the FDP. As a journalist, he specialises in security policy issues. In 2024, he published the programmatic anthology ‘Swiss Security Policy’ together with Kaspar Villiger and other authors. Before joining the NZZ in 2002, he worked for Swiss television, including as an editor and producer for the programmes ‘Schweiz aktuell’ and ‘Rundschau’. He was also SRF correspondent for the Western Balkans, based in Belgrade. Häsler studied classical philology in Bern and Basel.
