SwissShrimp combines pleasure, Swiss quality and sustainability.

At present, the Swiss retail and comestible goods trade is wholly reliant on imported frozen shrimps reared in overseas farms (Thailand, Southeast Asia, Ecuador, etc.) or shrimps caught in the wild. The business idea from the start-up SwissShrimp offers a counterbalance to this: freshly caught, locally farmed shrimps. These are much tastier than their frozen counterparts.

Local farming with a closed salt water cycle is absolutely free of antibiotics (biological filter stages during water treatment) and improves the CO2 balance by 50 % compared with imported frozen goods.
